The Nesting Place, was designed for a long narrow sloping residential lot in Egmont. Inspired by nature and Luxury is an architectural masterpiece designed to offer an unparalleled blend of luxury, comfort, and seamless integration with nature. This multi-floor was created to accommodate family gatherings for bonding throughout the year. The architecture is oriented to unfold along the length of the topography, culminating with an infinity pool that which dramatizes the relationship of the villa to the vast views of the Caribbean Sea. It redefines modern living with a design that embodies fluidity, a deep connection to its surroundings, and interior transparencies that facilitate interaction and bonding. It is an elegant retreat that feels both protective and expansive, giving each occupant space to "be", allowing you to live in the moment. It features four ensuite bedrooms, that have the ability to talk to each other if required.
The structure’s architecture embraces a moderenrectiliniar form, utilized due to the constraints of the site and the desire to maximize the living space. The Nesting Place has a centrally located large great room to accommodate family gatherings while maintaining openness. Large floor-to-ceiling windows ensure an uninterrupted flow of natural light, enhancing the interplay between the villa’s interior and exterior landscapes. It boasts a large outdoor kitchen to extend the entertainment area to outside and features a number of niches for more intimate interaction.
The villa’s multi-floor layout allows for distinct living zones, including private bedroom suites, open-concept communal spaces, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. The primary living areas feature high ceilings, fostering connectivity and an airy, expansive feel. Meanwhile, the upper levels provide more secluded, tranquil spaces, perfect for rest and relaxation.
Sustainability is at the core of Contemporary Caribbean architectural designs, to this end the design incorporates passive design strategies to mitigate microclimatic impact - large terraces and deep overhangs sheild the expanse of glass from direct solar radiation. Natural materials such as stone, wood, and glass are intricately woven into the design, reinforcing the villa’s organic aesthetic and harmony with nature . A neutral, earthy color palette was utilized to enhance the serene ambiance and showcase the stunning blue/greens of the ocean and the surrounding vegetation. Modern finishes and high-end furnishings ensure that luxury is felt in every detail. The entire energy needs of the villa is accommodated through the use of solar technology and a water generation system ensures that the occupants are always assured of a drink water supply (as Egmont experiences drinking water issues).
The Nesting Place stands as a testament to Contemporary Caribbean’s continued quest for the promotion of human centered design. It showcases their expertise in crafting architectural designs that embrace both sophistication and tranquility. This villa is more than a home and bonding agent—it has been used as one of Contemporary Caribbean's (CC's) Case Studies that illustrates that goal should be to "Design a home for the life your client wants to live". As part of the Case Study CC shows that the floorplanis the key. The floorplancan then be clad with any style of articulation, depending on the aesthetic desire. This is the reason that Contemporary Caribbean spend alargepart of the development time on the Conceptual Model. The floorplan is everything and you often can not go back to change it.
This house features the same floorplan as the images above but its exterior is articulated in a more traditional Caribbean architectural style.
